Goal 1

OBJECTIVE: Improve communication channels
ACTION STEPS:

  • Audit current communication systems.
  • Survey communication needs with stakeholders.
  • Research and recommend communication and website platforms that support consistent district branding, school identity, and community engagement.


OBJECTIVE: Enhance collaborative opportunities
ACTION STEPS:

  • Hold at least two district-wide open forums annually to gather stakeholder feedback and strengthen communication between schools and the community.
  • Expand learning opportunities for families through Fort Lee staff-led Parent University sessions focused on student support and school engagement.
  • Expand opportunities for district-wide collaboration by creating at least one annual district-wide committee focused on student achievement, school climate, or student support initiatives.

OBJECTIVE: Strengthen relationships and partnerships with families
ACTION STEPS:

  • Host two joint PTA-President meetings each year with principals and district leaders to build stronger family connections.
  • Offer school information sessions at every school before the 2026-2027 school year begins.
  • Provide district-wide and school-based family engagement opportunities that promote collaboration, participation, and community connection.

Goal 2

OBJECTIVE: Strengthen security protocols and personnel
ACTION STEPS:

  • Assess security staffing and supervision needs to support consistent coverage and visibility across all schools.
  • Review and update the district security plan annually, communicate key updates to staff, and provide ongoing safety and emergency preparedness training for security personnel, teachers, and administrators.
  • Enhance coordination and communication with local law enforcement and emergency response agencies through at least two meetings a year, collaborative planning, and joint safety initiatives.

OBJECTIVE: Optimize supervision and infrastructure
ACTION STEPS:

  • Assess and enhance security camera coverage and related infrastructure to improve monitoring and school safety.
  • Utilize school safety teams to review data and identify trends related to student supervision, movement, and areas of concern.
  • Review supervision and safety procedures across schools and implement recommendations to improve consistency and operational effectiveness.

OBJECTIVE: Cultivate a proactive safety culture
ACTION STEPS:

  • Provide ongoing safety training and reinforcement for students and staff regarding emergency procedures, expectations, and reporting protocols.
  • Utilize post-drill and post-incident debrief meetings to evaluate response procedures and inform continuous improvements to safety practices.
  • Research a group communication app for anonymous reporting by staff, students, families and community members.

Goal 3

OBJECTIVE: Integrate comprehensive social-emotional learning (SEL) programs
ACTION STEPS:

  • Conduct quarterly reviews of school climate, wellness, attendance, and intervention data to identify student needs and strengthen student support practices.
  • Research evidence-based SEL practices to support student well-being and engagement.
  • Review and refine I&RS procedures to strengthen consistency in intervention planning, documentation, and progress monitoring across schools.

OBJECTIVE: Enhance student achievement and access to opportunities
ACTION STEPS:

  • Gather student and staff feedback regarding engagement, learning experiences, and skills aligned to a future district Profile of the Graduate.
  • Strengthen implementation of academic supports and intervention practices through consistent MTSS and I&RS procedures across schools.
  • Enhance staff capacity to implement targeted academic supports, interventions, and enrichment opportunities for diverse learners.

OBJECTIVE: Promote a culture of wellness and support
ACTION STEPS:

  • Expand opportunities that promote staff wellness, connection, and work-life balance through districtwide wellness initiatives and supportive practices.
  • Develop structures that encourage staff voice, connection, and shared decision-making to strengthen workplace culture and engagement.
  • Increase awareness and accessibility of mental health, wellness, and community resources for students and staff.

Goal 4

OBJECTIVE: Enhance professional growth and collaboration
ACTION STEPS:

  • Create opportunities for staff to engage in cross-school collaboration, instructional learning walks, and sharing of best practices.
  • Strengthen support systems for new staff through onboarding, collaboration, and shared learning opportunities.
  • Utilize student data and staff feedback to guide professional learning and collaboration opportunities.

OBJECTIVE: Foster a supportive and inclusive work environment to implement a vision for high expectations and high quality instruction
ACTION STEPS:

  • Develop instructional “look-fors” to support consistent expectations for high-quality instruction and student engagement across schools.
  • Conduct two administrative calibration sessions per year to support a shared vision for student-centered instruction and high expectations across schools.
  • Build on existing programs by expanding opportunities for students across grade levels to engage in rigorous, innovative, and real-world learning experiences.

OBJECTIVE: Develop recognition and advancement opportunities
ACTION STEPS:

  • Showcase innovative programs and instructional practices through district and school recognition initiatives.
  • Provide opportunities for staff to present successful practices during faculty meetings, PD days, and/or district-wide workshops.
  • Coordinate staff recognition that celebrate leadership, collaboration, innovation, and contributions to the school community.
