Dear Fort Lee Families,

I will not jinx us by commenting on the weather, other than saying I hope that you were able to be outside today or yesterday to enjoy the sunshine.

The past year has been a difficult and challenging time on so many different levels. I hope that you and your family are healthy and safe.

Since the start of the school year, the district administration has been monitoring the situation closely to determine how best to service our students. At this time, the district will be making some changes in the instructional program to increase the in-person instruction for the students. Beginning on Monday, March 22, all schools and grades will combine their two student cohorts into one. Students participating in the in-person instructional model will be able to attend school five days each week. The schools will maintain the same time schedule that is currently in place. The option to participate in the full remote instructional model is still available for families.

You will be receiving more detailed information from the Principal of your child’s school. After reviewing the information, please contact them with any questions.

Students and staff will continue to wear masks, follow the social distancing recommendations, complete the daily health screener and have their temperature checked daily

REMINDER: The primary determinant of any changes in the program will be the safety and well being of the district’s students and staff. I believe that our cautious approach so far has kept the number of positive cases low. Please be aware that if there is an increase in the number of positive Covid-19 cases or severe  weather, the district may switch to full remote instruction for all students with limited notice. Some  potential changes may affect certain schools or grade levels. Each educational environment has its own priorities and conditions that must be met.

The Club Ed Afterschool Program is available in all elementary schools and the Intermediate School. It is operating from 1pm to 6pm, five days a week. For more information: Call 201-837-9090 ext:240 or [email protected]

The district schools will be closed Monday, March 29, until Monday, April 5, for the scheduled spring break.  All schools will reopen on Tuesday, April 6. A reminder to all families that all travel quarantine requirements are still in place.
