Hello Fort Lee Families,

It is my hope that your children have had a strong start to the new school year. I hope that you are continuing the strong beginning to your school year.

I am pleased to announce that the district will be opening earlier than anticipated for families opting for in- person instruction for students in grades preK- 4 as well as students in our preK -6 special education and self contained classes. The families of the students in the self contained program will be contacted directly by their case managers.

The district will transition from fully remote to the hybrid model of instruction on Tuesday, September 29. The District will be closed on Monday, September 28 in observance of Yom Kippur. Information regarding the Hybrid model of instruction is included in the District’s Reopening Plan and the Frequently Asked Questions document on the school website.

You will be receiving detailed information regarding drop off/pick up procedures, Back to School Night, and other topics from your child’s school Principal.

Aftercare will be available through “Club Ed”. Please contact them directly through the information on the district’s  website. ([email protected] or 201-837-9090 Ext. 240).

District staff continues to make every effort possible to enable all schools and grade levels to open for in- person instruction as quickly as possible.

Earlier today, a survey question was sent to all district families. I am asking for all parents to submit their response through the Parent Portal by Friday, September 18.

As always, if you have questions regarding your child’s class activities or schedule, please contact the teacher or the school Principal. You can also contact your school Principal for technology assistance and support.

Recruiting and hiring the most qualified staff members continues to remain a top priority during this challenging time. Our district administrators are working expeditiously to put the best teachers and other staff members in front of our students to address staffing needs.

It has been brought to my attention that some parents may have recorded their child’s class activities and shared that through social media. Please respect the privacy of the class and the teacher. Please do not post anything without permission from the classroom teacher.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Anyone who is on school property is required to wear an appropriate face covering. Visitors will not be permitted to enter the school buildings unless approved by the building Principal.

Thank you for your ongoing support and patience as we work through this “new” September.

Stay safe and healthy.
