Elementary Programs: Grades K - 4

2021 - 2022

Inclusion

Our Elementary Inclusion setting serves both students with and without recognized disability in the same general education classroom.  This model is best suited for students experiencing mild disabilities which interfere with academic achievement.  The inclusion model is utilized across all Elementary Grade Levels (K - 4).  This program is housed at Elementary School #2.

Resource Room

Our Elementary Resource Room setting serves students in Grades 1 - 4.  A Resource Room is a separate, remedial classroom where students are provided with direct, specialized instruction and academic remediation.  The content areas of focus in our Resource Room setting are Language Arts-Literacy and Mathematics.  The Resource Room setting is housed at School #1, School #3 and School #4.  (Add ABA link from preschool page on bottom)

LLD / LLD Severe Classrooms

Our Elementary Language and/or Learning Disability (LLD) classrooms serve students in Grades K - 4 who have mild to severe academic deficits and demonstrate difficulty meeting grade level curriculum standards across content areas in a general education setting. Students receive individualized instruction in a class with a lower student-teacher ratio. School #2 and our Grades K - 2 LLD Severe (LLD S) classroom is housed at School #3.

ASD Classrooms

Our Elementary Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) classrooms serve students in Grades K - 4 with significant social, communication and behavioral challenges.  Special Education teachers in our ASD classrooms employ the use of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) methodology and data collection tools to target  basic linguistic and functional skills. It has a low student-teacher ratio for success. Our Grades K - 4 ASD classrooms are housed at School #2.

ERI Classrooms

Our Elementary Emotional Regulation Impairment (ERI) program serves students in Grades K - 4 with social, emotional, and/or behavioral needs. Special Education Teachers in the ERI classrooms implement the use of specific behavior and classroom management strategies.  These classroom settings have a smaller student-teacher ratio.  Our ERI classrooms are housed at School #2.
